New Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich!

The Driftwood Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich

Just recently, Driftwood added the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich to its menu! This new sandwich has been a major hit at the restaurant. In fact, it is the current house favorite!  Interestingly, it also has an incredible history and journey to becoming a staple in the city of Nashville.

History of the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich

The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was invented in 1930. Originally created by Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack in Nashville, Tennessee. According to the story, Prince’s scorned lover decided to get revenge by putting a “devilish” amount of spice onto his favorite fried chicken sandwich. Since then, the Hot Chicken sandwich became popular due to its delicious and spicy taste. The appeal of this sandwich spread throughout Nashville. Now you can get a Hot Chicken Sandwich at any restaurant in the city. So, why did Driftwood bring this spicy sandwich to its menu?

Bringing It Home

Driftwood has plenty of spicy dishes. In addition, we have other spicy sandwiches like the Kickin Avocado Chicken. However, after several trips to Nashville and many of these sandwiches, we had to bring it home! To satisfy the people that really love the heat, adopting Nashville’s signature sandwich for Driftwood Bar & Grill in Novi makes perfect sense. We’re confident that if you order it, you will experience a sandwich that is delicious and spicy with every bite.

The Perfect Blend

Our Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich features our Amish chicken that is breaded and fried until a beautiful golden brown. It is topped with spicy cabbage, pickles, and Swiss cheese. Then a perfect blend of Nashville hot sauce is added before being served on a corn bread roll. We’re confident that our unique take on this iconic sandwich will not disappoint! So, stop by for lunch or dinner and get a taste of Nashville. Just be sure to order a cold drink to go with it!
